Are you ready for some football?

"Your life changes in August."
Or so says the promo for "Madden NFL 06," the mega-popular football video game that goes on sale tonight at midnight at several Indianapolis locations.
In its 16th year, the Madden series has sold more than 43 million copies. Last year alone, it sold more than 6 million. - NFL Football -
This year's version promises more emphasis on the quarterback and more unusual passing techniques, said Philip Smith, game adviser at Game Stop on West 86th Street. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb graces the cover.
"I just wish it was Peyton Manning," said Smith. The store's manager, Kevin Walter, said he expects more than 100 people to come in at midnight to snatch up the game. Almost 200 have placed it on reserve. - NFL Football -
The game retails for $49.99.
While you're waiting for midnight to strike, here's some more Madden news: Today is the first day of open registration for the Madden Challenge, a nationwide tournament that pits the best players against the wannabes. The Challenge stops at Castleton Square Mall on Oct. 22.
